I'd personally avoid them if they are blue, purple, green, bright red or yellow. these are typically the color of dyed parrots which usually won't live for very long. there are exceptions of course but undyed parrots are much healthier. I disagree with 1 adult parrot in a 29 gallon though. they can get rather large (8" if not slightly larger) and imo would need a larger tank once they reach adulthood. I'd go for a 40 long or 55 and you should easily be able to keep 2-3.

ya im not going to go with the parots, probally cons or if i get another good idea so keep em comin

i was wondering about the parot cichlids, i believe there a hybrid anyway petsmart has them and i think there kinda cool, anyone have any info???
I got info, don't buy from petsmart they over charge lol

cross between gold serverum and a red devil or midas. THeir artificualy fertilized so that makes the males of the species infertile.

Fun fish to have, they have deformed jaws and bloated bladders so they have trouble swimming.

Blood parrots usualy turn orange or grey, so they tatto the poor fish, with stupid colors and designs. Very painful to the fish, few survive, don't buy any that have been tattoed.

These so called true parrot fish that some websites have of Lime Green Blood Parrots and Blue Blood Parrots make me sick or the store that try to sell them to you saying how rare they are and all it is dye. Right now I have a 60 gallon tank with one Blood Parrot in it and they are nice fish. Just watch out what fish you put them with, because the shape of there mouth and body they have a nac for not getting enough food.

I have 2 parrots in the 125 and theyre my favorite fish. I can say, that sitting here looking at my 30 gallon, I would NEVER put one in there. My male is around 8" and thats just not right. They also have no problems what so ever swimming, no bladder problems or anything of the sort. Also, their mouths may be deformed, but that does not stop them from eating properly or biting. I've been bit a few times, and it does actually hurt, lol.
