I have been told various stories about the breeding of Parrots. I have heard that its possible but I've also heard that it is not possible. Anyone have any experience?

Parrots are hybrid, they are man-made tru cross-breeding of some cichlids, thus the male is infertile although the female is capable of laying eggs.

femnales will cross with anything they are capable with. However, although most males are sterile, there are several capable ones on the market.

as the others have said, a large percentage of male blood parrots are infertile and therefore incapable of breeding. there are some males capable of breeding, but not many. most females, however, are capable of laying viable eggs that can be fertilized by a male of another species. a lot of people who breed them use a female blood parrot and male red devil/midas. :)

Wow. I didn't know that most blood parrot males are infertile. You learn something new everyday.

to the best of my knowledge most males are infirtile
