my parrot fish is nearing his 3rd birthday. hes 9" long. i measured him by hand.
about two weeks ago i bought a new tank (100 gals) and upgraded from a 55g. all the fishes had their own 5 gal bucket to live in. my featherfin synodontis had a panic attack and turned completely white. then after settling in she returned to normal. my jack dempsies were like 'yeah whatever.' and my parrot fish turned from a bright orange to a colorless white (theres a tiny bit of color but it looks white) with the exception of his nuchal hump which is still as orange as it every was. everybody is acting completely normal. water params are pristine (which doesnt surprise me as the 55g was pristine and everything including substrate and filter was put back on the 100g) with an extra hob filter and extra heater and live plants. so my question is what is wrong with my parrot fish? im gonna post a picture right in 1min.

When the parrot is stressed out, it looks like that. I have had high levels of ammonia and it made my parrots turn pale and eventually died

pardon my intrusion in this conversation as i could be wrong but in a new enviroment and change wouldnt the b maybe turn whiter like a midas would peel away from its orange as it grows?

im leaning towards the lights. last night when i walked in with the lights off my parrot fish looked completely fine. so did everybody else. i have much stronger, more powerful lights. i went from half on/half off (i only illuminated half the tank) standard fluorescent strips to full metal halide/pc/led lights on 14hours a day compared to 8hours. do you think my lights could be washing out his color? my datnoid looks a little bit washed out too...
