Some parrot bodied culls and non pearly sb. Have the space to grow them out before spring really kicks off so let's see what they do. I usually don't keep the parrot bodied fish as they don't fit the standard I am trying to achieve, so this will be neat. Fading has started on a few...

They look great!
Are these all fh or fh x bp?

They are all from a f2 sb rt (originating from sb tex x kkp) x parrot. The double dose of parrot really brought out the parrot form in the fry, I have never had this many parrots in a spawn. Only 7 quality sb tex out of the spawn but 20 brilliant (or weird) parrots.
Did final cull last night now it's time for a bit of grow out.

Wow, that's a lot of parrot in them. Definitely brilliant parrots not weird.

Kind of neat how they lined out. 3 distinct phenotypes: all long bodied fish were nearly fully pearled (20% of the spawn), 50% were parrot with or without pearls, the rest were non parrot shortbodies. Not a good way of making rt but the male was unsuccessful breeding with a female rt and sb rt. The sb rt from this spawn are great but fading already so not much hope for deep red color.

My favorite is now this one with eyebrows coming in:

This cull is developing a little nuchal hump and doesn't much care for eyebrows.

Developing sexually and now territorial aggression means group grow out is done. Will do another week or so and start getting rid of culls and try 2 pearly females from this spawn in future breedings. They look great.
