Whats your experience with the battle on Patience in terms of fish keeping? How long have you waited for a fish to mature? To become available? To breed and/or develop? Is it worth it? Have you ever waited and waited to only be disappointed?

Ive currently got a fish that will take about 7-10 years to fully develop, thus far the last 2 years have been great watching it grow up and become a true monster! :)

It will probably even out live me...lol

 Please share to inspire people whos patience might be thinning!

Not waiting for the fish, already got it....just needs to grow up! :naughty:

I have to wait a few months after I move until I get a bigger tank (possibly 55 gallons) due to lack of money at the moment. Hopefully, new job will pay better.

I think it took me about a year to get some dario dario. I finally found someone on aquabid that was selling them and when he did ship them he didn't include a heat pack. 4/10 were DOA and the rest are pretty much just fry size. So now I am growing them out very slowly.

i have waited for a fish to grow and then suddenly lost it.. that hurts..but i have two black belts that are growing like weeds from almost fry size {now they are almost 5 inches}that i bought and nurtured and although looking great in the color and health have the worst tails i have ever seen on a fish.. no reason but genetics so it is probably there for the life of the fish.. so big dissapointment ....gave them great food and clean water and huge tank.. so they grew healthy and look ragged.. urrrrr!!

Man I have been super anxious since I got back into the hobby five months ago. I think just this week I am begining to relax. Well Gr8Karma you understand what I am going through from the post about the "Stress of tanks on my second floor." All my life I have only owned 55g and then i just make this big leap and grab a 150g and two weeks later set up arangemnets to grab a 240g! Man I am a mess right now. And I won't even say how much money I have spent in the past two months. My girl would shoot me with all of my guns! Let's just say I went to the store last night and for the first time I put the decore down and just brought food for them. It's hard!
