crazy!... seems like the sharks reaction was fitting to the divers advances lol... got the poor guy pretty good.

Wow thats scary, didnt read the article, what were they trying to accomplish?

It didn't say or I've missed it too. I assume since the shark was pregnant, they were trying to separate it so it gives birth in an environment safe to its... sharkette (?) ...

... had to look it up and got this

Baby sharks (called pups) are born with a full set of teeth and are fully ready to take care of themselves. They quickly swim away, even from their mothers who might eat them. Litter size ranges from one or two pups (for a great white shark) to over 100 (for a large blue shark and the whale shark).

It looks like the shark didn't want him touching her. That guys arm looks horrible. Hope he recovers.

From what I've seen, the guy touched it plenty, actually was hogging it, pushing and shoving in the direction he wanted. Finally, the shark had enough.

This was shot in 2012. The guy did recover fully despite very serious wounds.

Yikes! How scary! Glad the diver made a full recovery.

They were trying to move the pregnant shark to another tank. They had tranquilized it and were trying to turn it around when the shark grabbed his arm.

I seen that video yesterday. He is really fortunate to have his life

At first I saw the wrist wound and I was like, is that all? 'Tis but a flesh wound! Then the camera panned up to the arm wound and I was like holy crap! Why don't they wear those fine stainless steel chainmail clothes like the guys in the shark docos do?
