How is that skimmer working out for you? I am looking to get one, but dont know which one as far as brands and stuff

How often do you do water changes as well? I want to upgrad my fowlr to a reef setup soon

It works great! I bought it used off of a guy on AC for $65! I add 10 gallons of water a week for W/C

lookin good but you need to get rid of the hermit if you havent already. They will love soft coral and can get a hold of sleeping fish too. My guess is that you have already figured it out huh? Try for a reef cleaner package with smaller hermits like red or blue legs. Alot smaller and better tank cleaners to boot! Good luck.

Yes, I rehomed the hermits after they tore up the Kenya tree after two days... The Kenya tree made a full recovery :)

It's been about a month, and so much has happened! (good and bad) I had a major outbreak of bubble algae after what I believe to be the firefish's death. The corals are doing well, the GSP has spread a lot!

I bought some emerald crabs to combat the bubble algae, they are doing a good job. I got a 3" Niger triggerfish for $19, I couldn't pass that up ;) So far, so good with the trigger, it hand feeds well, and eats frozen/dry food very well. I feed it plenty to do my best to prevent it from turning towards other fish or inverts for food.

Nice trigger. Do you just have the normal green bubble algae? If you have the red I don't think the crabs will eat it. I think my puffer and tuxedo urchin ate ALL of my bubble algae, but my puffer is just weird, since he kinda went herbivore on me ;).

You can take it out yourself too, get an exacto knife and your siphon and take it out with that, there is a YouTube video somewhere of it.....

nice trigger - you'll need to starve the algae via lack of lite, lack of nitrogen, and or lack of co2. reducing lite to 8hrs, chem pure works great for nitrates, point a power head right at it floods it with oxygen
