Not meaning to come off as prickly or anything but I posed that question to F1 in particular because of his background and he already answered shortly after I posted.

Auto cross/1/4 mile drag as well. Karting is very different from "go-karts," for example shifter karts exceed speeds of 70mph+ given the track! And your ass is 2" from the ground, 90% of all professional racers started from karting like f1/Indy car/NASCAR/dirt/moto gp/lemans/all formula series/etc.

Go karting is pretty fun actually, something you do on a date with a girl. Wouldn't expect you to know the difference.
