Payara ID, Armatus?

do it if i find a good deal on the yellow tails, ill probably get a couple more to add to the tank. nothing like a school of teeth!

btw, what are you keeping these days?

As far as characins I only have my big boy armatus and an odoe.Other than that I have some peacock bass and most of the dat species....I will probably get a group of red hooks before I get any more red tails though.

Water is green from algae bloom, water conditions are healthy tho. Two yellow tail strange, completely different from my original tats which are bright red. Thanks for the id tho guys!

It looks to me that you have an Armatus. If you have it with a Tat, you could tell the difference personally.

Agreed. The first payara (that procedes the 2nd) looks like an armatus to me too.

i dont think so. head shape looks like tat, has no white tips on caudal & anal fin. the one i believe you all are talking about, has a smaller tail than the tat (3rd pic)

Maybe these are some better pics? First two are my Tat and others are the new guys. Really hard to tell as they do have a slight white tint to the tips of the fins.. Such thing as an tattuaia/Armatus cross breed?? Idk they look similar to tat but similar to Armatus I'm confused.
