I could get a tds meter... I dont rely think i need one but maybe i should so i can keep a close eye on it as they get older.

They're really cheap..... At least this way we all have an idea of mineral content of the water we start with - a baseline so to speak. Can also be helpful to compare to the in tank water as far as scheduling water change frequency or drip system settings.

IF we can get some West coast participation with their crazy soft water maybe we could find a constant like the softer the water the longer they last..... I know I'd love to be able to compare the water we all start with, I'd love to know if anyone out there is dealing with the same liquid rock crap tap that I have. As long as we all feed the same we should be able to learn something.

I'm down for trying to help this project as well. This could be fun! I'm moving to southeast Georgia in a couple of months so I'll have that part of the country nailed down.
