I could be wrong but looks like a scombe to me . Awfull skinny too get som food in its belly

Hard to tell as this fish is very small/young it has a large tail for a scomb.

WOW thats got a big tail for such a small payara. And the bottom fin is rather large as well. ------------------------------------------------------------Just keep that tank full of small guppies and we will see in a few weeks. Also be careful with him they are fragile at that size. So no ammonia and no bully's in the tank.

I will keep him fed for a few weeks than post some more photos.

Looks promising, keep guppies with it and in two weeks youll know if you have an armatus.

SCOMB VS. ARMATUS one of those leaning towards scomb.

its very armatus like due to the tail and head shape in the first pic.
the other pics tell me scomb however...plus that classic spot below the pectorals got me thinking scomb...
im not an expert by any means.
post pics in a few weeks.

Like others have said either scomb or armatus, although my first thoughts are scomb.
