Is there anyone out there in MFK land who can Id a payara through a simple photo? Here is a pic of mine and he is such an awesome fish! so much fun and such a joy to have. My favorite fish by far.

i thought he might be a schomb but I haven't a clue what im talking about so please dont go with that.

i bought him with this title on the tank, "Saber-tusk Barracuda $35"

When i first got him he was about 4" and he is now maybe 4 1/2 or 5" but a lot fatter now. Like I said, recomend that anyone have this cool as hell fish.

Yup and if you paid thirty five smackers for it you did pretty good since scombs out here right now are two inches and going for that price.

I've only seen datnoids swim zig zag hahaha.I think those BA Tetras in the background will disapear in the near future.

Believe it or not the tetras are fine with the payara ( for the moment anyway). They seam to get along great. however; since the introduction of these african pikes, they are going down one at a time. i used them to make sure that this new tank was cycled and you wouldnt believe how far they have come with their tankmates. Tough little guys. i hate to see them go honestly. I might pull them and do another 10 gallon biotope style planted tank to make sure they do ok. They are really cool tetras. They do great with the "scomb."
