i didnt know scombs swim straight
i have kept 10-12 and all of mine would swim straight if they were in slower moving water. But as soon as some current was introduced that did the usual standing up. And also when they get excited they will stand straight up and prepare for the swing manuver.

same here....there is not fish that NEVER swims straight.i think.

would it eat an oscar? I like it a lot >.<
(oscar is 10")

The picture that i posted, might have been the first time that this fish has ever swam straight. He swims at a very upright angle unless he wants to go a long distance. When he is about to eat something, he goes straight up, does a sideways twist, and then darts in a scooping motion to get something. But like i said, he is never straight, i think it was just for the camera.

the oscar would be the problem causer. Scombs usually leave other fish alone that are atleast half there size. As long as they are not starved

they are awesome to watch eat. the swing maneuver is what I call that feeding dance. If You like watching that one, get your self a few more. I do not think a scomb or Tat can be truely enjoyed for what it is until you see a school of them together, shoaling and feeding:headbang2
