Tigriuns- Looks like a scomberoides. Have a few that will swim without the angle (If thats what you mean by swimming style).
JD7 - wow that would suck (not that i dont like redtails). The mouth looks more underslung then a redtail. but then again, i dont know too much about telling tats and arms apart when small. What were the diff charcteristics? Think there was turned down head and red adipose fin. Any more?

The fish in my avatar is my redtail. Yours has similiar color but different body shape. I suck ass ad IDing but I think its an armatus.
aro-man, yeah the goldish color is normal for armatus. It usually fades to a more silverish color as they get older and the scales thicken. Based on the structure, I still think it's an armatus. If you want to get some better pics, use more light above the tank. It'll help us give you an absolutely positive ID.

KRS is right. aroman u have nothing to worry about its deffinatly an armatus and tigruins u have a scomb. sometimes it hard to tell but KRS knows his vamps and has helped me more then a few times. scombs are still sweet. i miss mine
Heres some ways to tell them apart (Sorry, my skills in paint SUCK)!
The Armatus's head is has a more downward slope, while the scombs head is pointed upwards, kinda like an arowana. The adipose fin on the arm is orange while the scoms is black. The Armatus's caudal fin has a darker edge and a clear base. The Scombs caudal fin has a darker base with a clear edge. Also, the Arms has a dark slash right behind its gill plate and the Scombs is more of a blotch. Arms swim level with head and tail right behind each other. Scombs (usually) swim at an angle with the head lower then the tail. This is just from info gathered here and from looking at my fish so it could be wrong. Hope this helps.

Id like to get something like that for redtails. My redtail has a clear edge and orange adipose fin. However, it is clearly not an armatus. Its hard to explain but the head is just different.
here is a sweet pic of all 3 right next to eachother, such a sweet sight too bad it didnt last. with my bright lights and sand the color differences are very distinguishable
