Payara or Wolfish?... tankmates?

Recently my cousin purchased a new 90 gal tank and we are looking for predators to fill it. The water is cycled and is all ready for either of these fish. Neither of us have owned a red wolf fish or a payara, so we are unable to come to a conclusion on which would be better.

-Red Wolf fish
-Payara (armatus)

What is your opinion on these two predators.
Which of the two would be the more entertaining.
What kind of tank mates would be suitable for them.
( I have a 11.5 inch oscar that could be going in this tank when the is big enough)



Would it be possible to get these fish young and small and possibly raise them together?

Armatus grow big fast, and will start banging glass so go for the red wolf

Isnt there a way to neutralize their growth by feeding them fish high in enzymes?

no idea
if you plan on upgrading itd be good, they can live for 90 in a while just all the payara sp. get claustraphobic and will begin banging on the walls.

Yeah I have read that. Is there a chance I can get em going together i can get a 2' armatus now and a 4' red wolf. If it grows quickly will the wolf fish be better off with a head start?

by the way careful doing the whole " or ' on fish lol cause ' = foot and " = inches cause the whole thing about a 2'/4' red wolf or armatus etc im just saying i really think you meant inches id hope so..

Anyway, I'd get the wolf. I really don't understand the appeal of payaras.
