Payara tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Even if they weren't illigal, I wouldn't put 9 to 11 tats! that WAY too much! Maybe 5 to 7 if your lucky. Those are expensive fish you know! :P

Yeah exactly. This is similar to what I stated. If op did that many it would be over a $1000 purchase.

With a two foot wide tank, the only ATF option you have if you're gonna keep them for life is forskahlii. That's not a bad thing though, they have the same gorgous colors when grown as VATF, but they top out at about 15".

9-11 tats is too many. I would go with a trio of FATF and a trio of tats with a trio of pink tailed chalceus as surface fish and a couple peaceful polypterus as bottom dwellers. You could also go with a school of silver dollars to add some movement to the tank.

9-11 tats is a bad idea. As juveniles they will be fine together, although once they hit maturity the aggression issues will start. Once Payara species hit maturity they tend to become solo predators. You would need tons of decorations to break up each fishes line of sight so they have a sense of security. Your best bet would be 3 tats, 1 alpha to 2 submissive, along with other dithers.

Or you could use the cash you would have spent on multiple redtail tats, and get a armatus. You may loose some of your stock though lol
