Best I could do...

Can you See the bright yellow! If they are Tats I will get them. I just would rather not purchase any scombs due to space issues.

it's a tat. I did think it was an armatus for a sec from the black near the gill plate. Went to check on google images to double check. The armatus has a longer dark slash at the gill plate.

I think it's an armatus because of the black mark near the gill plate. for cheap you say......

Bro i was thinking there heads look like that but Armatus I was thinking would never have a full on no mistaken yellow tail.

Really cheap 40 each wholesale to my bros fish store, he would sell for 149.00.

Thanks Rob so then Tats can also have a yellow tail and act like red tail tats? Just don't want any stubborn Scombs not wanting to eat tilapia.

Yes, there are confirmed variants to have had yellow tails. I can't wait to see yours out of the bag. Consider this one of my typical data mining exercises. Just because I'm normally focused on ATF, that doens't mean that I don't have interests elsewhere. ;)

$40 is a good price EVEN IF it was a scomb IMO! I'd have snatched them up, too. We need in tank pics!

If you have a critter keeper, you could try putting it in there before you put it into the main tank. I've done that to get pics before with great success. It works well if you don't have access to a good camera.

i made a mistake and I made an edit on my post straight after. Yup it's a yellow tail tat.

Thanks bro as always I appreciate you. Do you have any information on them? Are they just like red tails tats?

But they have to be 100% Tats and not Scombs?

they definitely aren't scombs in my eyes. Scombs don't have that distinctive black marking at the gill plate. red tail and yellow tail should have the same personality. I have seen the yellow tail in one occasion at payarakeeper's place. Acts the same as any payara, lol My advice is to just keep it like your big boi armatus. But I definitely wouldn't keep them together though.

Yes bro actually I was thinking of grabbing a few of these yellow tail Payara and adding them in my 300 with giant black ghost knife, giant Archer fish, giant Leaf fish, Raphael catfish.

10 years ago I had a dozen red tails in a 360 all in the 10"+ range. They grew slow and ate silver sides and never really poked any eyes out. They did occasionally chase each other around though.

Armatus will be going in the 720 soon by himself. I have been tempted to grab the 18 incher in LA for sale now. Just scared they will chase each other around.

Hi Amazon how are you? Mine tatauaia had yellow tail first and now is beginning to change to red (orange tail right now). Which specie is giant leaf fish?
