Payara

Mine does the same thing, only eats every couple of days. He's about the same size as yours. If he seems healthy otherwise, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Was wondering about a payara 18 inches long! Wanted to put him in a 120! Would that tank be to small thanks in advance! How long would it take to get them to grow from babies to the 1 foot mark and is it cool to have a school of them!

I got one today finally awooooooo i was so happy when i got there to my lfs i thought to myself it probably is just a barracuda! then i saw it sitting the way payara do at an angle! he is 3 inches and cost 50 bucks! I have him in a densely planted 55 with a 12 inch bgk! There is 100 bucks worth of plastic vines! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am still looking for more and plan on moving a school of payara to a 125 and possible trying to breed them!

Well after 20 minutes, he started to eat, he grabbed 3 minnows already. He is not skittish like i thought and is just kicking back without a worry! I was thinking sudden movements etc would stratle him. The guy at the fish store said they have had him for 3 months so i am thinking alot of people walking by him, he is used to it all. well keep in touch, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
