Just keep us updated and if he is acting normal then it should be fine .
no u topically apply the iodine just make sure it doesnt get in their gill
i had an 11 yr old severum that cut him self on a rock and it got infected in a day and turned all red so we thought his insides were gonna pop out lol
but once we pulled him out
added the iodine (not too much use a cotton swab or an ear swab to apply it all over the wound)
and let him sit for 20 seconds out of water we put him back in the tank and the next day the wound turned white and in a week it was all healed up unfortunatley weeks later we lost him too HITH but the iodine had nothing to do with him dying

i'd add salt and try some meds.
