Well I got 4 packs of hikari frozen blood worms and tried the mixed pellet method. Both peas took a few in and spit them back out. One did manage to keep one bloodworm down. Should I starve them for a couple days before I try again?

They'll take it soon enough. Theyre hitting it so thats a good sign.

You would think that all frozen bloodworm are the same, but I have noticed that the Sally's Bloodworms - San Francisco Bay Brand have worked best for me. I tried Hikari many times and my baby bass didn't seem to like it much. With the Sally's they always went ape for it.

These guys finally hit and kept down a few frozen bloodworms. I think repetition is key now and eventually ill add crushed pellets in the mix.

Go with nls pellets, don't ever let them taste massivore/carnivore

Yup, its like crack for bass and its a good food, just not cost effective. NLS is cheaper in bulk, itll save u money in the long run when these bass are eating handfuls at a time. Not to mention, NLS is better for them, less fillers.

I use like four different foods for my small bass. Cheap pellets like Hikari Cichlid Gold, dried krill, Southern Delight Veggie, and Hikari Massivore. I only feed Massivore once a week and alternate the other three each feeding. This helps keep my fish food bill low and give them a variety of foods. I also think that because of the varied diet, it will be easier to switch it up more often and with other food types.

I tried to give them a couple small crickets earlier but all they did was sniff em and turn away. I thought it was instinctual to eat insects? I dropped a cube of blood worms in after that and they are eating consistently. Nice little rounded bellies ha
