PBASS PLANT NANO UPDATE....JDM STYLE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did not know about using everyday fert for aquatic plant tanks...good to know...

When I first got into it I didnt notice much growth either...prob because the setup was too new...but after a few months of just letting it run, I noticed alot of new growth one day and it was all growth from there...

some of the plants i have in that tank "suppose" to use CO2 based on the research on other forums and general information from vender sites but I believe if the lighting is sufficient and the substrate is rich enough...dosing CO2 in the form of excel and some additional fert is enough to grow most plants...

I would like to set up a large plant tank using T5 lighting but that will be later when I have more time...I would like to start that tank out with trimmings from this tank since the plants are all established...

You ever consider raising discus in your tank?

When you transition to a full on big planted tank, with all those trimming and plants your tank would be already good to go. I see alot of people trade their plants for other types. Maybe you can do that if you wanted to add different color into your tank. Just my opinion but everyone has their own preference on how they want their tank to look.

Armatus...it's not a dumb question, no one is born knowing the name of all fish haha

that discus was moved along with many other (all in the 34 gal nano lol) to a 125 gal tank with lots of large malaysian driftwood and various species of anubius, mosses, and java ferns attached to them....the tank is a bare bottom and is fairly new.

I dose like crazy in the 125 since there's no substrate...I chose anubius due to the fact it is a bare bottom since the roots of anubius do better when not buried...so I read haha...

there are a school of angels, school of discus, school of geo altifrons, various cories, and 2 titanium flowerhorn babies lol....I'll post up a thread on it soon once i get it filled with more plants...

Wow, cant wait to see. That is sure a interesting mix especially the two titanium flowerhorn. I have always have aggression problem with them and consider them more of a solitary fish.

the titanium FH babies are a little nippy after they settled in ... they are aggressive as they get big.

I found them at my buddies fish store and took them lol ... figured the blue will go with some of the discus's lol. I wouldn't be surprised if I have to remove them in a few months when they get bigger lol but for the meanwhile they are ok being 1.5" long and tend to clean up the leftover food nicely...I'll try to get pics up this weekend =)
