oooo my weird mono or whatever does that after a waterchange and he turns super black n dark

does he open his mouth and closes it? does it have like these crystal spots on his bottom fin closer to his butt hole? lol damm i feel like s h i t right now

what are your water parameters? ph, ammonia, nitrite? how long has the tank been setup for? the gasping for air thing means you should airate your tank a little better, what do you have running now for airation?
it's prob 1 of 2 reasons-something isn't correct with your water, or he is stressing out because of tankmates...what size tank and what else does he have for tankmates besides the other bass?

and try to take a pic of the tail...good luck man

I would recommend checking your nitrite levels. Nitrites can cause irritation and flashing in the absence of any obvious parasite infections, and at very high levels, can cause skin and gill damage. Pbass eat up a lot of protein, which has a lot of nitrogen in it, which produces a lot more ammonia in their waste compared to other similarly sized fish species. Most of the bacterial additives for tanks are nitrifying bacteria, and may not have enough of the right species that would further reduce nitrites to nitrates -- but those come with their own set of problems.

Keep up with those water changes!

I haven't really read all of this thread but I do remember your other threads. My advice is slow down relax and breath. for the next week i would only do 10% W/C on your tank every 24hrs for the next week and STAY on 24hrs. You have 1. A nitrate/nitrite problem so basicly an unstable tank. 2. A Cichla who is a picky eater. So you wanna feed but your tank isn't established and I don't think your equiped to handle the load of additional stress in your water column. So take it easy and cut things back a bit.

ALSO I would not get to crazzed about parisites and worms. Take this from a real CICHLA keeper. ALL sp of Cichla are sesitive at a young age especially Azul.

ok ok amm my fish died i quit. NAH JOKKKES!!! i got got i was just to worried because i wasnt ready andi havent been through this before but i got it. i tested the water parameters every thing is all GEEEE!! nitrate/nitrite is on the safe zone so nothing is the prob. my tank is established i cycled this tank for like 2 months and everythings safe. they are not doing it no more.
