teacher fish work great as well.. i had luck using oscars.. even though i am not a big fan of them... when it comes down to food cichla are very competitive and so are oscars.. it works out

^^^ this IMO is possibly one of the best ways apart from DMs sticky.. ive had heaps of cichla come into my tank and take dead food straight away simply cause they saw every other fish go crazy over the pellets..

Do you have living blood worms and frozen blood worms?
Give them fifty fifty and later you reduce more and more the living worms.

When i was into cichla i feed them brine or mysis and they devoured it. sometimes you just had to fill them up with guppies, they really should eat frozen bloodworms or brine off the bat and i think this will make it easier when its time to switch over to krill silversides etc
