Pbass tank size?! And pbass question

Height has no bounds with cichlids. So effectively you're working with 32 square feet of floor space, no where near enough for those fish...

The footprint is huge! Way more than enough for these cichlids. Height can affect the cichlids actually. So the 40" only helps...

Are you really that naive? People can only blame your age for so long...

You plan on cramming 15-20 cichlids that can potentially exceed a foot or more into that?

That being said, I guarantee we will never see: 'Andrew1002 monster build' completed, so I really don't know why I'm bothering, but hey! Sue me...

So don't bother, get off my thread then.

Andrew, most your stock are bottom to middle bottom dwelling fish... you could not possibly have enough hiding spaces to keep fish from getting eaten or bullied to death... adding pbass to your List would entail the peabass being bullied, or the loss of 60% of your stock. Your planning an un-realistic stock. And your asking for help, yet know it all when confronted. Learn something before attacking someone who knows more then you. Your probably years away from moving the cichlids you do have out of your 55.

Besides a pbass has the metabolism of an RTC. They would be a massive threat to your other fish by means of starvation. Meaning they would grow a lot faster, and would start killing off your stock as they can fit in their mouths...

The reason the height will not help is cause cichlids are mid to lower level fish so unless u are feeding most will be at the bottom. Just cause the fish can fit in the tank doesnt mean the tank will accomidate the size territory most large cichlids claim especially if you have a pair or two. If possible i would go shorter and longer if you want it to work. Like everyone said dont rush and youll end up with a tank and stock youll love for years instead of having to remove fish cause of aggression and possibly deal with more illness from stress. For an example of how fast the space goes away when you have a pair my pair for texas cichlids decided to spawn in the 75 gallon they were in with other fish im growing out they were the smaller fish in there female 2" male 3". When they spawned they almost killed one of my mayans and beat up everyother fish in there and took over the whole tank. They are now in their own tank.

Yeah I'm gonna take a pbass off that list. After what I've heard they are giant oscars basically. By that I mean how oscars aren't really aggressive they are more or less pigs.
