;) that would be a nice site.

as for seedubs1 idea with all males I agree but I dont think andrew is willing to go down this road? I remember before you mentioned you want to see them raise the fry and hold off other fish etc.

I mean, I can do almost all males... Just not going to do completely all males. I'll get a couple pairs and that's it. Maybe 3 pairs in the full tank? :/ I'm not sure about this though... Definetly a Jag pair, maybe a Dempsey pair (pretty sure I have all males now), an Oscar pair maybe?, and a Texas pair. I already have a convict pair so they aren't going to go in this tank. Idk yet. I'll decide on the stock when I have it.

Pairing Oscars aren't as simple as pairing Convicts.

Your Oscars are fare too young to be considered a "pair". You may have two that have buddied up but at this age it doesn't mean anything. I had a small Oscar that would follow a Blood parrot around, didn't mean anything. Oscar don't mature until around a year and a half or so.

yup I have 4 oscars that follow one another around doubt i will see some 4sum actions going down :(

as for a jag pair like i said 50 50 just dont get all upset when they take over the whole tank. mine still have growing to do and the 180 is there from a-z. honestly go all males or all pairs none of this some pairs some not the fish without a partner will get rammed. Only fish I would keep a single male is the red devil, Id even go for a bared mida male. Only time will tell what happens....

I wanted to do all pairs. But people said it would be too aggressive

it will be, but mixing with some pairs and no pairs wont help the issue at all. will come down to a 1v2 fight in my eyes.

all pairs would mean lots of caves/territories then when another pair or single fish swims over they both go at it but the fish has a partner to swim back too which should send the other fish back.

like I said its going to be a nut breaker getting it to work, you will lose fish and your fish will never look nice due to constant fights but I would go all males or all pairs no 50/50s.
