I currently house my Pbass with a Chocolate Cichlid(Temporales)someone offered me a free baby Jag,he is about 3 inches(my 2 other fish are nearing the 5 inch mark)will this work out???Right now my Chocolate rules the tank, any help is appreceated!!!Thanks!!!:naughty:

I have to agree that the pbass will certainly outgrow the jag. So for now, things might be okay, but you will have to keep an eye on things as they grow larger.

yep also watch because even though it's smaller if it has a ill temper it could stress your pbass out.. It's risky and not a sure thing but I don't think it's undoable..

I have found Jags to be very diverse in temperament: Some are insane killers that try to get at you OUTSIDE the tank, even while no females are present (breeding), and I have had Jags that are real easy going, just keeping a small area clear with the female WHILE spawning, not attacking other fish. So, it will be up to what kind of Jag you get. It could work, but as mentioned, keep an eye on them.

I had this mixture before...i wouldnt worry about the pbass outgrowing the jag that much cuz when i had my jag it grew very fast also...i would just be worried about the jag picking on the pbass...the jags that ive had were good until they started breeding then it was a different story but they are really not all that aggressive..

no offense to ozcar but i have never owned or even seen a passive jag. my jag is right now way more aggressive than my uncs dovii! i would not try it but it relly depends on the tank size.

I was really more worried about the Pbass getting his butt whipped, not sure if it is worth it.

Dovii,

i've worried about this too.. seems that pbass aren't whimps.. lol. My Dozer always seemed so small and vulnerable until the snooks tried to "claim" their breeding territory.. lol. Dozer is NOT a pushover..
