So I cant really blame him for the wrong species as his sources may tell him it is PBB when it is Lap. Hai...

At least I got a real PBB from him, but I believe there is another PBB in the other 2 as I checked carefully and this piece is not clearly seen in the pictures. It is similar to the PBB you all ID, but smaller and only 14 dorsal fins.

I have to take it as an expensive lesson. :(

Well if you see another one that is labeled as PBB but still hesitant that it may not be. You can just take pics of the actual fish and post it here for ID before buying it. Therefore you will know for sure.:)

These are the other 2 PBB I come across recently. They look slightly differently from the PBB I have and looks more like lap as the "whiteness" is not there and the head shape if different.

Can anyone help to confirm ID of them?

That's looks like a cb pbb. I think those two came from a farm that mass produce them. Not the one that been selective breed by kamihata.

Yup, looks like the Aqua-Art bred ones.
Seen some bigger ones, they get really fat and many spoonheaded.

They are quite cheap in comparison to others here Taisho, so don't let them rip you off!

Ok, so how cheap is your cheap? Can you PM me the price of the real PBB and the CB PBB? I was offered a 6 figure yen for them. :)

The mass farmed ones like that from Aqua-Art were going for ¥24,000 last year as juveniles.

Selective bred ones from the likes of Kamihata are more than triple that price.

They look really similar to the ones selling by BIG-IN, and here's the link: http://big-in.jp/itemlist.php?type=1002004 Does the 6 figure yen include the shipping cost? I've seen some PBBs for sale at 25k+ yen in some japanese websites.

LOL, good detective work Tendou!
They are from Big-In.
Infact those pictures are from the website.
They are labled as the "Black Type Super Fat Bichir Bichir".
They are infact the very same cheap CBs that were in Aqua-Art last year. I knew it!!!

And They are sold out (as it says on the site) and have been since 23rd Dec.
As it is BI-Pro, I know Sasaki and Ryuta both very well.

Infact, I can call them for you Kohaku if you would like further information...
