kool thanks man.

how small of a pond can i put my pbs when their grown un to say 9"???

300 gallons and up is a good size for a pond...i would say mini pond. What kind of pbass you have? and how many? i would try getting a 8'-10'x4'x3'

Im puttin some of my pbass in a large pond next summer when they get bigger....Pond is in ground w/ liner...about 20-25' in length and an easy ten in width....guessing. ALready home to some 3lb large mouth and smaller and some bluegill and perch. I wonder how my new tsn x rtc would do in there...not heated and its in northern ca.....Real hot summers and not too cold of winters.

I highly doubt your pbass will survive outside in norcal, they can't even live in the central and northern part of florida. The other species in the pond tolerate cold water well but the hybrid cat and pbass are from the amazon.

How big of a pond can you build? You can put them in a pond, but since you live in the Bay area, I would recommend a heater. I have a pond that measures 5'x5'x2' Depending on filtration and heating, you could go with the same measurements, but it'll probably be better bigger;)

Watch out for rain causing sudden pH changes.
And if you build a roof then watch out for enough u.v. to reach in or buy an uv lamp to kill bacterias.

super great advice fellas..yeah i have total of six as of today and probably get more when time permitts...

this cichla business is no joke...hahaha
