lol, thanks guys. theree are so many options.
my lfs has a led fixture that is supposedly equal to a 500 watt halide. i think i could grow anythin under that
but the thing with getting the kit is that i have to order it. i realy dont like waiting.
same with making my own. i would be stressed just buying all the parts.
im still trying to think. but i might just let this tank be for now. i forgot i still need to buy ice cap ballasts for my halides so i might wait, decisions decisions

ok i kinda want to upgrade my 12 gallon nano cube ligts to t5s. but i just figured out i could only fit 4 6 watt bulbs in the hood. i wanted 6 but it just wont fit. i have the stock 2 whatever watt PCs right now and was wondering if it would make any diff?
need to know before i start taking everythin apart.
really wish i could get 6 so i could grow some acros and maybe a tiny clam.

do the t5s have individual reflectors? you might as well just get LEDs or a 70w jbj hang on metal halide fixture and ditch the lid.

A 175w MH clamp on is going to make that tank awfully hot.

This is why LED's were suggested. I wouldnt go anywhere near something that was supposed to replicate 500w of MH.
