I have a 46 gallon bowfront tank. It runs about 78 degrees with a Hydrosponge IV. I have two java ferns that are in the process of bonding to some wood and rock, some floating plants, and some java moss on the bottom. It's hard water with a pH around 8 or 9. I put in 6 zebra danios just to get things going, and some blue mystery snails (which I'm likely going to get rid of). I just got a African giant filter shrimp (Atya gabonensis), and in a week or so I'm going to get 6 to 8 corys.

All that comes to this. I need something for midwater swimmers. I would like something that I can keep a decent sized group of, and something that has some blue and or green, or is just neutral colored (I don't like just red/orange/yellow fish). It MUST get along with the corys and my big shrimp. I am also not a big fan of cichlids, aside from the german blue rams.

I forgot to say that the tetras would be a last resort. I'd much sooner get pygmy corys, but they are hard to get around here.

I think you might have problems with barbs and shrimp. Gouramis are nice, but you cant really keep a big group. Rainbows would be a great choice as well-bosemani or praecox come to mind.

about 4 inches I think. But they eat like goldfish, so you'd have to forget about your corys eating. Well... they look nice.

cardinal or neon tetras would be the most obvious choice
I concur Neon tetras Just Go for a school and the Blue ones. Possibly skirted tetras? I would need to find you a pic but they are silver with black skirts classy looking fish :)

Silver dollars, you can get the smallish species or the bigger ones.
