Well that is very hard to believe considering Ocel and Mono are extemely similar :( :)

In my opinion :)

They do looks similar there are a lot of I.D threads between occellaris and Monos.

apparently my taste in peacock bass is derailing this thread.. so i'll splain.

When i got my first 3 peacock bass i had no idea there were more than one kind. We were sold "peacock bass". I later found out that they are ocellaris, and through all the changes and weirdness, only one of the first 3 survived. That is my Dozer, the ocellaris in the pics with the arowana.

Months later i found out that there are other kinds of peacock bass and fell in love with orinos and tems. and i now have several of each.

I don't care for mono's simply because they are too similar to ocellaris, except for the shape of their heads and eyes. And i see very often they are mistaken for ocellaris or labelled incorrectly. All peacock bass are beautiful to me, but i can live a long and very happy life with the three types i have, and if i were to get another type of peacock bass it would most likely be pinima..

cichla and aros should be fine together..as long as both species are relatively even in size, and both have plenty of room, it should work quite well..

Hit or miss. You might be ok, you might not. It just depends if you want to take the risk. My pbass killed my jardini a while back. So it can go either way... although I think it would tend to go the other way.

Maybe trying adding a big oscar, since they're easier to come by and see how that works? That could test the aggression of the jar with someone less valuable (imo) like an oscar.
