Mine wouldn't eat the first 3 weeks I had them, I've had them 5 months now n if anything hits the water it's gone. I had to start dropping shrimp n Massivore through a PVC pipe just to feed the ray n Dat

Phhewwww.. thought I was doing something wrong.
My new bass are NOT hammering food... for a fish such a reputation for being aggressive pig feeders.... mine certainly arnt at the moment.

My orino has eaten 2 massivore and 8 cichlid gold pellets in 2 weeks. !!!!!
They also wont even look at food on the floor..which could be the 3 rays feeding rampantly.

I think my big tigers spook them also when its feeding time.

If anything makes it tithe floor in my tank mine still swipe it off the bottom lol

To eat off the floor...how long did that take sePPii?

Strollo--- I noticed today my small orino displaying with my small 7 inch indo.
Both were chasing each other but not snapping at each other. Its only these two fish that do it. Nothing major..

Most of the aggression seems to be between the Kel and the smallest Dat, the 6" NTT. It appears to be more "posturing" as no snapping is going on.

Any particular Bass less aggressive than others? Been looking at some Zullies lately

Imo the most aggressive species are pinima and orino....and all the others will be hit or miss depending on the personality of the individual bass. Out of my azuls the two bigger ones are pretty aggressive and the others are a little more laid back.

Good to know. Keep the advice coming. Maybe we can get this stickied since it's a popular combo in our hobby.

I wouldn't say popular combo. Eventually the bass will win you over, and you'll have more bass than dats. Then all of a sudden you have only bass and no dats. That's how it was for me lol. Unless of course you have an ST then id suggest holding on to that one. Everything else, IT AT NTT can kick rocks.

I highly doubt I'll never have any Dats. The Kel is a really cool fish but why can't I be D.R.E.A.M AND C.R.E.A.M haha
