dont think this will work imo....the bass like to chase, pick on and intimadate anything in the tank, where the tetra (yes it is a tetra lol) is very skitish...all in my opinion
depends on the size of both when you do it...Plus the Payara will only eat live...Meaning you would have to feed the peacock live and would be unable to convert him off live IMO. So I wouldn't do it.
i find feeding my bass live is fun to watch ust about got him eating out of my hand and the pbass is about 4 inches so if i got a 4 inch payara would it work?

Tats can be trained off of live foods.I had my trio eating freeze dried krill from the surface and smelt and raw shrimp. Now if there is enough space then they may get along or just ignore one another. My kelberi pretty much mind their business, but then, they live with an armatus that is bigger than they are....The bigger one will flare at the armatus every now and then but nothing more so far.
I've had a red tail payara w/ bass and other cichlids for almost a year now. Currently he's in a 6ft tank w/ a 8in Brokopondo. The bass does bully him a bit but not too much IMO. BTW my payara has been taking krill for quite some time.
