Hey guys, it's been a few years since I've been on here. Recently I got a new setup, 125 gallons. I've had a peacock bass growing in a 55g. He's about 9 inches now in the 125. Earlier this week I bought a 6 inch temensis. The last 2 days I've noticed my orino breathing very weirdly and he seems to have lost all his appetite. He breathes as if he's struggling for air. Temp is about 84.

Is the 125g cycled. I'm guessing high nitrite and/or ammonia.
PS....that's not an orino.

How much aeration on the tank? lots of surface movement?
I would first lower the temp a bit. Warmer water holds less Oxygen.
If the bass still has heavy/strained breathing after 24hrs he may have gill parasites/copepods

yup heavy surface movement. If any gill parasites present ammonia stress can make it much worse.

how are they

I got a pair of oscellaris peas about 8-9 months ago and the one is still only about 4” or so and the other one is sitting at about 6-7”. The smaller one is breathing weird and his gills kind of stick out and looks like a lump on his chin any thoughts on what’s wrong and how I can help him?C5F949C4-0EE3-4F18-9405-8AD90290BA18.jpeg
