So are you saying these fish might not be wild caught?
The bahia is captive bread cb, the azul unless you heard differently from your supplier has a good chance of being cb.

Ok thanks...good looking out bro! That would be my assumption according to a little research.
On an sg they talk about it as well. Those guys are breeding cichla in ponds w/ ease. Lots of hybrids are coming from that area.
Im also questioning a bunch of the "wc" arguaria kelberi that have popped up lately. A lot of em look just like the watered down f1...2...3 arguarias from sg. If you look at the true "wc" arguaria kelberi the markings are very clear. Like the one's Mark from Discus Orgins imported. Nidd one of the sg guys has a true "wc" arguaria kelberi and it has very clean bars. We gotta keep an eye out for this kinda stuff and try and help each other out. These are all specualations but I believe there is a quite a bit of truth behind em.

Hekk...I bet w/ the amount of kelberi...or even bass for that matter appearing in the market place these days....how many do you really think are wild caught? Especially w/ the huge amount of cichla being bred in ponds over seas. Just look at some of the sg forums. Watered down bass all over. From azul/orino or azul/kelberi hybrids being bred in ponds to the bahia's and aruguaria's being inter bred in ponds as well. The info is out there if you search. Just some food for thought.
Is it just the cichla game being tainted?
Or is it the hobby in general?
NOthing wrong with cb fish at all.
But them being passed on as wc when they are really cb sucks.
All for a buck.
WHat happened to the good ol honest days?
HAHA!!!!!!
BANNED!!!!!
Come on man, I thought we were better then this!!! No more smart ass remarks.
