Looks like a bacterial to me as well. Keep the water clean and it should be ok. I would also adjust your current w/c schedule. The benchmark should be 50% per week and increase from there if needed. I would also be using a liquid test kit and not test strips to monitor your parameters.

I have liquid test. Double checked everything. Just easier to post strips for general idea vs a bunch of tubes/typing it all up. I will try to up my w/c schedule as well.

Maybe buy some Specie-containers and keep them for aqua use only, the big ones cost only a few euros here (netherlands).
I always use them for wood stones and fish sometimes to, and big jerry cans for water.
 
Update - took wood back up to LFS. he was adamant that it was only a PH issue. The ph was causing them to excrete slime (the white I was seeing). He refunded me with store credit for the wood. Maybe I’ll buy a different piece from the other LFS and see what happens. Thanks everyone for your help.
