My pbass and arowana pretty much eat eveything including the spirulina pellets. Just soak dry food in water along with blood worm and frozen krills. Throw them in the tank all at once. Eventually, they will learn how to eat dry food. Just make sure you have other fish that already eats dry food.

Try throwing single pellets at the tank, you should notice that the cichla will try and get them though the glass. Do this for a few days, then open the lid and and throw a couple up and over into the tank. The cichla hopefully will take them as they hit the water. At first they will spit them back out. But keep on trying and after a while they will regard them as food.

I have managed this a few times with small cichla, Dont let them get used to live food otherwise there will be no going back.

Good luck.

I literally throw the pellets at the water for my bass, he eats anything that moves, including my hand.

They will eat pellets.

I prefer to feed krill and BW at that stage though.
