When I feed him feeders I about 2 or three in at a time, then I wait til he's got it down then I drop a few more until he's full, now when I feed the pther fish the frozen bloodworms, all the extra individual bloodworms that stray away he will eat. I also feed him black worms.

small cichla will chase and eat anything that runs away from them.. makes getting them on new foods soo very much easier. thaw the frozen bloodworms in tank water.. then pour them in front of the filter return stream so they seem to swim.. the cichla will eat em up.

do the same with finely chopped tilapia and whatever pellets you want them to eat.. NOW is the time to teach them to eat pellets, if you wait too long you will have very stubborn fish and a fight on your hands.
