24 or 30" wide? Azul can get over 2'. If you can find fogo, they should be fine. My favorite other smaller species are orino and intermedia.

Kels are too aggressive in my experience at least the one I had would go after all my dads other bass

Kels have been some of the easier going bass. They're gonna push around a bit (cichlid and all) but I've never had issues with kels
