WOW THIS POST GOT OUT OF HAND.I don't think I will even get a pbass so you can all calm down now

So Neal what happened to your Bass? So do you believe that the larger fish shouldn't be sold in the quantity that they are? Do you believe in the regulation of fishkeeping?
Also where did you get your experience from? Also have you ever observed bass in the wild?

I will write up an article on Decency.

I have never been to SA, although I have snorkeled with Cichla.

I have to agree with Pbass , most people do not have the tanks to house some of these fish. And I think Pbass has been very lenient, I would say to house a Pbass for life will require bigger than 400g. I will say that it can't be helped that some people don't have a clue about fish keeping ethics, whatever you say to them will just go in one ear an out the other. All I can say is that there are some of us that appreciate that a life is a life, and even though their is the argument about not keeping fish at all, I believe that if you provide an adequate enviroment for these fish they can live longer grow bigger than their wild counterparts.

they are beatiful fish but after watching a vid of them feeding I don't think my other fish would stand a chance at geting food. those things are awesome predators

Pbass,
Snorkling in an indoor pond is not exactly observing their natural behaviour they are still constricted by a unnatural barrier. I have been to the Amazon on various occasions and have been lucky to see the interactions, type of habitat, breeding and feeding behaviour however I would not descibe myself as any expert because as yet there is still so much unknown about the Cichla species.
In your reply you say you will write about decency, this wasn't the question, I too believe that fish should not be allowed to be kept in such small enclosures, but then you are leaning towards some sort of regulation of fishkeeping. Is this something you would embrace?
