OK so I have seen intermedia, monos and some azuls with humps on their heads. Is this a male trait, certain species trait or genetics? Picts would be cool if you have them. I have a mono (15") developing his hump:headbang2. I am a hump fan just wanted to see what you all think.

It is a male trait but some females to get humps but not as pronounced as males. It also has to do with genetics too such as how big the hump grows, if the male even gets one etc. Heres my nine incher

Awesome. Knarly hump.

thanks

The hump on the head means a high amount of protein in is diet. The bass stores extra "fat" in its forehead during mating. I chose the first option.

One of my three kelberi has a hump on it's head.I made a thread about it with photos comparing it the other two kels not too long ago.
