Well its been 24 hours, and the eggs are still cream colored.
Just wondering will a female bass lay eggs if there is no male present ?
Thanks

Welcome aboard
Yes female Cichlid can lay eggs without a male but the eggs will be infertile.

True, females will lay without a male but both wouldn’t be fanning them. They’re most likely a male female pair or could be two females that laid but that’s unlikely.

Sounds like a pair to me. If they are fertile they will turn brownish if not they will be orange. You should have wigglers in about 3 days post spawn. The parents will most likely eat the eggs so if you're lollkmg to ease the fry I would pull the eggs and get them into a ten gallon with a spounge filter. After the egg sacks are absorbed they will need live baby brine shrimp. You will need to start hatching them. Lots of feedings and water changes will be required on the fry tank good luck if you have any questions let me know. My pair spawns twice a month.

Hi guys,
Well its been a year since my female started laying eggs. They spawn every month, but nothing has ever come from it.
Until last month, when my wife started screaming, we have fry !
Only about 10 were there and they were getting sucked into the filters very fast. None survived ?
Well they are getting to spawn in the next few days, this time I'm ready.
