The tank should be cycled. It's using an old filter I had running on one of my other tanks. The tank has been up for 3 weeks with no prior issues. I have 2 30 gallon hobs one old one new and a sponge filter I had rated for 20 gallons running in my main tank. I used water from my main tank and let it run 48 hours then did a 75% water change before adding fish. I've been adding aquarium salt to balance the nitrites and doing weekly 75% water changes. Nothing more I can do to keep the parameters better imo. Well either way I came downstairs today and he was on his side not breathing. A little sad but the rest of the fish seem to be looking healthy and are very active. Either way thanks for all the help guys.
