Hey Everyone,

I honestly dont know much about peacock bass...always had the idea of getting one but I think I should post first lol.
I just moved to a new house and in a few months I should be having a 180 gallon 6x2x2 tank (possible 6x2.5x2) and the main attraction will be one or two male hystrix stingrays and I just like the idea of peacock bass with rays.

Well my questions are as follows:

-What are some small species of peacock bass?
-Best vendors for peacock bass?
-If kept properly, what would the growth rate be like? (Trying to match them with the hystrix)

Thanks!

Check the stickies.. Tons of info in them. Kelberi and orino are some of the smaller species. Also lots of vendors on here have been bringing in some quality bass so check them out

Hey do any of the stickies mention care and housing for the bass? Im having troubles finding it

Alot of them. Sizes are listed which would determine housing. And care is listed in tons of threads. Warm water/ lots of flow/ lots of water changes. I don't mean to come off as a jerk but 15 minutes of reading and searching will answer a lot of your questions

I have been doing research...went through the stickies each one about 3 times...even the "9 new specie" and went through the link... I was just thinking since in dont travel much to this section of the forum thie would have been an idea of some where where thier is a list of sizes of various bass kept in the pet trade as well as thier tank sizes. However I guess i was wrong...and will have to result to google which has brought me to numerous "yahoo answer" pages.

Thanks for listing the kelberi bass... Just for some reason having a hard time finding a reliable source where they tell you avearage adult lengths.

Just read through general threads. A lot of the same questions asked a million times over. Orinos grow really slow generally a little less than 20" max size and kels usually only hit about 18"
I understand not venturing into the forum often but with more visits comes more knowledge. There are a lot of very smart people in here that give great advice. Just gotta
Do a little digging
