I just use a big azz piece of tubing and siphon it out. Nothing sheets crazier than my lungfish LOL, looks like a 3 year old pooped in my tank.

Bare bottem and big tube 30 seconds siphon or like I tend too do 50% or 75% water change three times a week or daily syphon the main collection areas about 10 gallons. Sometimes syphon three times daily on the weekend depending on what I feed. (I tend to feed more on Fri and Sat.)

Its all about good current and filter socks. My fish poop a ton! Ive got over 30 fish that are all good size. I just let it all go down the overflow and into my filter sock that gets changed daily. Takes less than a minute...WIth my old fx5 it was a pain in the arse!

I have the same issue, how big is your filter sock? And how strong is your current?

I rinse/replace my filter sock like once every week because of my bio-load, annoys the hell out of me but once a day dang that must suck! I used to run barebottom but it i got tired of it. Was much easier getting the poop though.. once you find the dead-zone that is.

I have a 400 gallon system with decorations and rocks...I run 3 of the high powered hydro korilla powerheads angled at the floor ...i turn them on then in the garage i have 1.5 HP pool pump running off of 1.5 " ,(grey #80) PVC plumbed into the top of my tank running through the attak to the outside ...I turn them on at the same time and it sweeps the bottom with suction instantly ...NO HANDS or hassles ...water change intstantly and cleaning with a flick of a switch <(1 can doo 200 gallons in 40 seconds) ... I run fresh water back through the same line from my garage to fill ...DONE !!!

The pic is old when i had a 10k sand filter on it and skimmer ...i have taken all that off now tha i have fresh water and only have the pump with a drain to the outside grass now that iam freshwater again and ahave a wet /dry under the tank..again takes about 2 minutes to do a complete clean and water change and my tank is fully decorated with rocks plants ect....i have sucked a few plants up before ...lol...but i have the rest of them far eneough away and weighted down

I have a barebottom with a powerhead pointed toward the bottom on one side a the intake to my fx-5 on the bottom on the otherside. 50% WC's every 3-4 days. No fish poop.
