You might be able to get away with it for a little while but if your tightening the rest even tighter you run the risk of the same thing happening again... I agree who wants to pay 17 bucks for another lol get a C clamp n it works all the same and I'm speaking from experience My thinking was the same as yours just make the others tighter it worked for a little while but trust me you dont want to run the risk not worth it...
