If you have a large enough tank I'd suggest the aro. The pike will get HUGE so not sure about him. the Bala shark is probably okay if you get it abit bigger than the bass because in my experience they don't grow really fast so if not careful the bas will eat him (or you just get a big one). The dinosaur bichir is basically good with anything. I have one with my oscar and ckf and jd and no one even looks at him twice. I'd say no to the opaline becasue the bass will outgrow and probably eat it. Black ghost knife would have to be a good size with lots of hiding places (you may not see him alot), don't know what a tt eel is haha, and i'd say yeah to the fire eel! hope i helped! and good luck

a tt eel is just short for a tire track eel lol

oh yeah! haha brain fart sorry. and I don't think tank size will be a problem as long as you get the 180 soon! just remember to do a fast cycle if you can.
One of my favorite combos has always been the silver arowana with peacock bass if you have a big enough tank. which 180 probably would be for a long time.
as far as other tank mates go its really a hit and miss kind of thing. ive had fish that are completely fine with some fish and hate others. For example: the most chill fish in my tank for a long time was my red blood parrot. Then i got my red devil and the red blood parrot chased him and tried to nip him constantly so i took him out and gave him to my mom to put in her tank. So some peacock bass could try to kill everything, or some may not even want to eat live minnows. ive heard of aros not eating live too. its just the means of finding the right fish and buying them in person not online (in my opinion)

any one know any good companions for peacock bass.
and would they be ok with these fish, silver aro, northern pike, bala shark, dinosaur eel, opoline gurami, black ghost knife, tt eel and a fire eel. oh and would they be ok with any type of stingray?

thanks
Silver arowanas are big enough to go with peacock bass, but both these fish need much bigger tanks than 180s.
Boulengerella's would end up being food,
a bala shark would end up being food,
a dinosaur eel (senegal bichir) would end up as food,
a black ghost knife would also be food,
a tt eel or fire track eel may be ok as long as they are large enough.
Rays also need large tanks and a lot of maintenance so they would not work in a 180.
