I would say like i said early. They first have to associate you with food. I would feed feeders for about a week, then after the week or two period I would feed a feeder then feed a shrimp. i think this method is really effective but again I'm new

So you haven't tried this?
 
as you saw i was having the "new tank syndrome" las time I had peacock bass i new nothing yet the tank seemed to cycle even though i didn't test water or do water changes
