i have a 55g tank that im stocking with male haps and peacocks im going to get a 125g when i get more fish. but in my 55g i have 1 blue dolphin 6" 1 ruby red 3 1/2" 1 possible red shoulder 3 1/2" 1 strawberry 6" 1 tangerine 3 1/2" the strawberry and tangering chase the red shoulder and ruby till they hide at the top whats a good way to stop this.

i was trying to make a no hideing spot tank just big rocks to swim around so they dont have places to fight over
either get more caves or get more fish... really no other way around it if the aggressors have claimed the whole tank its not going to stop... when you either get the rocks or the new fish, take all the fish out of the tank, put in the rocks (if applicable) and put in the least aggressive fish first... let them settle for a little while, then add the dominant ones... the rocks will throw them off thinking they are in a new territory, if there are rocks they will claim a smaller area then just the whole tank...
If you want to go open tank... I suggest waiting until you are fully stocked, then pull the rocks out... by then the tank will have enough fish in it the more timid fish get lost in the crowd, and dont get as stressed

Try to build a nice cave on one end of the tank. Let the aggressor take possession. Then a day or two later, add rocks to the other 3/4 of the tank. Leave some space between the initial cave and the rest of the rocks. Plastic plants as a sight break will also help. This will give the most aggressive fish his own territory.

they seem calmer 2 day and more active the only thing i did was not feed them when i turn the light on
hmmm... feeding... whats your feeding schedule like?
some tricks to curving aggression, is also with feeding, if they are fed only once a day that may do it, if they are fed a 2 to 3 times smaller quantities it sometimes helps
