Peacocks are actually the least aggressive from lake Malawi.

Looks like you have Ruby Peacocks.
it actually depends on the fish its self and they can still be quiet aggressive even though they are the "least aggressive" i already knew this but its best not to say that its definatley down to the fish its self, all are different.

True but in general from mbunas to haps, they are the least aggressive. The only peacock ive owned that was aggressive was my jacobfreibergis.

I have never had a peacock keeps it's own with mbuna... and yes you are right wild peacocks do not normally get that big. However F1's that I like to keep are much bigger. My biggest is 6 inches and most likely done growing. I have a few smaller that are showing color as I said earlier...

I am not even sure if I would keep in a 55, if you have more than one male it will need a little more space to run if he is chased.

55's are ok for peacocks, but as has been said they get to be ~5-6 inches.

I have had all different attitudes, but more often than not they don't go well with the more aggressive mbuna. (I do have about 12 German Reds that are doing well with even my auratus.)

Anyways if you want to see all the Peacocks out there, take a look here:

Obviously some are more readily available than others but still as you can see there is a very large range of them.
